White Rose Senior Center Is In Need Of Home Delivered Meal Drivers!

Month at a Glance - July 2024

The summer is coming in with a BANG!!! Last week Lt. Governor Austin Davis spoke at White Rose Senior Center about a program highlighting new health care benefits for older Pennsylvanians. Commissioner Doug Hoke, Mayor Michael Helfrich, Retired Senator Roy Afflerbach, YCAAA Executive Director Mark Shea, and many members from the Center were present.

Last Friday, John Wolfe, a former Home Delivered Meal Driver, was given an AARP Wish of a Lifetime to fly over York County. John is 98 years young, lives at Country Meadows in Shiloh, is a WW2 Vet, a writer, and one of the sweetest men you will ever meet. Lisa Krout was invited by John’s family to come and see John fly the plane at Thomasville Airport. It was such an honor to share this with an amazing person! Hats off to you John!!!

Cash & Gift Card Bingo is gearing up on Saturday, July 13th. The doors open at 11:00 and bingo starts at 12:00. $50 Cash and $50 Gift Card Value makes for a HOT Day! This is open to the public. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. There will be Food for Sale, Raffles, Pull Tickets, and Door Prizes!

We will be Closed on July 4th and 5th so everyone have a great time celebrating the USA!

Older Americans Month - May 2024

The theme for Older Americans Month (OAM) is “Powered by Connection”, The theme recognizes the importance of social connections and meaningful relationships on health and well-being. The Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the country’s observance of OAM every year in May.

Each York County Senior Center has plans to “showcase” their senior center and promote this theme. Look below at what White Rose Senior Center has planned!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!

White Rose Senior Center would love to invite you to join in all of the great activities and NEW Activities that we have planned for 2024!

Each month we will pick randomly a “Senior of the Month” by using a computer-generated wheel. For January 2024, Peggy Horton will be FIRSY for lunch, Fresh Express, the Senior Commodity Supplemental Box, crafts, games, etc. To be included and highlighted for the month, you must eat inside the building on a regular basis.

White Rose Senior Center is asking for your support on November 28, 2023, Giving Tuesday.

We are using this day as our “kick-off” for “DECK THE HALLS”. Our goal is to raise $1000 to benefit our White Rose Senior Center Members and to make the Center FESTIVE for the HOLIDAYS!

  • Your participation and financial contribution will support WRSC initiatives
    $10 Centerpiece (17 Tables, 17 Table Centerpieces to be sponsored!)  This is for decoration only. For $10.00, you can sponsor your table’s centerpiece. The incentive? If you purchase a Centerpiece, your table gets to go for lunch in the order your Centerpiece is purchased). Christmas Centerpieces to be placed on Tables on December 1st.
